Time for a Transfer

The Fantasy Footie Transfer Window is now open and it's time to brush up the Squad That's Bound for Cup Glory. There are some tough choices that need to be made, but I'm the man to do it. Rocky Mountain Rovers has had a pretty meagre season to date, and is currently sitting at number 21 in the League. This is for a number of reasons:

1. Goalkeeper Cudicini has been polishing the subs bench for the entire season so far and has amassed an impressive ZERO points. Well done, my son. Pick up your cards on the way out.

2. P Neville, star midfielder for Man United has also picked up ZERO points. What a player! Worth every one of the 3.5 million pounds I spent on him! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Phil.

3. Campo, lately of Bolton has managed a stellar NINE points this year. Back to the Sunday leagues for you, although you should probably pop into the barber's on the way.

4. Djorkaeff has managed to remain unemployed for much of the season so far as Bolton failed to renew his contract, only getting signed by Blackburn two weeks ago, on a just-til-January contract. He's been playing well since his return though, so he's not up for the chop at the moment. It is a risky decision to keep him in the side, as he's only managed THREE points so far this season - time to get the lead out, Youri.

5. Sun Yihai & Yobo. Not the greatest defensive pairing ever, having amassed 13 and 14 points each so far. So many duffers, so few transfer slots.

6. Lauren & Mellberg. Now we're talking. 74 points between them. Keep it up lads.

7. Can't fault my strikers. Dickov, Anelka and Viduka have raked up a massive 119 points between them, keeping the side afloat. Score a few more, lads.

So, the following duffers are out of the side:

Cudicini 4.5m

Campo 2.5m

P Neville 3.5m

That leaves 3 spots open and 10.5 million quid to spend.

The three replacements are:

Cech (Chelsea) 4.0m
Cech was my goalie of choice at the start of the season, but for some unknown reason I changed my mind and picked Cudicini. Now, Cech is the top goalkeeper in the league, with 55 points and he's 0.5 million cheaper than Mr No Points-icini! So welcome back to the Rocky Mountain Rovers, son.

Okocha (Bolton) 3.0m
Third best midfielder so far this year, with 49 points. A safe bet.

Jenas (Newcastle) 3.5m
Doing well this season too, 45 points so far. I was tempted by J Cole of Chelsea, but he may not last the whole season, so Jenas it is.

Total spent = 10.5m

So there we are, a new line-up for the rest of the season. Hopefully we'll be scraping our heads on the ceiling of the League table, not bumping along the bottom!

Jon
