Time to Go Home...
Well, Stephen and Melissa's 2 weeks here are rapidly coming to an end. We've really had a great time while they've been here, and they've given us the excuse to do lots of things we would never have done otherwise (rafting, walking in the bobsleigh run, having Chunch, horse-riding, etc. etc.) I'm still putting together my big photoblog 'Stephen and Jonathan's Big Kananaskis Adventure', and it should be up here by Friday morning UK time.
I'm in the OR all day today, but P is going home early to pick up the Young Travellers. Then she's going to swing by the Foothills and collect me too, so that I can go to the Big Send-Off at the airport! We're really not looking forward to saying goodbye, as we would really like M&S to stay on for a while longer - they're very easy to look after, and really quite tidy and clean in the house! So it's a pity they can't stay, and Mel isn't looking forward to the long flight. But home calls, and we all must answer.
Watched Fahrenheit 911 last night, 2 days after its North American DVD release. Quite shocking - really makes you wonder why we went into Iraq after all... Also makes you realise why the Iraqis hate the US soldiers so much... Scary... It's been released now so that it'll have the most impact in the run-up to the US election. Our local DVD store had 40 copies in stock and we got the last one, so people are definitely watching it here in Canada... It might just make the difference in what will be an awfully close election, assuming that Kerry can keep up the good work in the debates (next one is Friday night, don't miss it!)
Better get back to opping, just time for a quick surgeon joke:
"How many surgeons does it take to change a lightbulb?"
"Just one, but I think we should really take the light socket out as well and maybe the light switch too - they'll only cause trouble later on." (:
